A few minutes from downtown Breckenridge, Boreas Pass provides a variety of mountain backdrops. We usually always stop at the first cutout as its a quick 2 minute hike to the top of a small, but gnarly nob. Driving further up the road, you’ll find groves of aspen trees, the Bakers Tank Water Tower and eventually above treeline. At the top of the pass, there are train cars and remnants of a town that has long been abandon. The road is well maintained and easily accessible with a car with clearance or any SUV. If you continue driving, you’ll find yourself in the town of Como, but we have yet to venture past the top of the pass.
