I would have supported the CPS program and was a member for years, but my recent experience has been poor. I took a lens in 4 months ago and then again recently and they did not return the lens within the time frame.
The first lens estimate a 100mm F1.2 was $1000 less than the initial estimate of $300 and took 3 weeks to repair. The second time was just for basic cleaning and checking focus took 6 days rather than the 3 days as promised by the professional services. Also, the reps did not contact me about it being late and if not for a personal cancellation, it would have been a problem with a shoot. The "cleaning and check" services offered as part of the CPS program is basically cleaning the external parts and taking a picture and seeing if it looks ok. This is according to the front desk rep. If you do want a membership, it seems the only benefit is the discount for a repair. I would recommend you only join if you have a repair and if the cost of membership makes is less than the discount. There is no other apparent value as far as I can see.
