On this blog, we often talk about how blessed we are to experience so many weddings, but we also enjoy getting to talk about the couples we meet. It may not seem like clicking a shutter or working a couple into a scene provides an opportunity to form a friendship, but it just seems to happen. And we dig that… which is why it was such a joy to shoot Allison and Scott’s Craftwood Inn Wedding in Manitou Springs.

After our engagement session a year ago, I had a quick sit down with them both, to listen and learn a bit about their wedding day. It wasn’t but two or three minutes into the conversation that I realized Allison was way ahead of the curve when it came to planning. Scott, being a geologist, and Allison, an avid hiker and outdoor person both highlighted their love for cool rocks and beautiful scenery, which is why they chose Garden of the Gods.

On their day, everything from the cairn necklaces, to the cake, to the sand they poured had something meaningful behind it. If we had to give a Most Personable Wedding award out every year, Allison and Scott’s wedding is this year’s winner. The memorabilia isn’t what really matters though. Its the unconditional love for one another that will last forever. Not the decorations. Their vows were a good glimpse in to how they plan to make that happen. Congrats to you both. Enjoy the photos.

Gorgeous photos! Allison looks stunning, and Scott makes a handsome groom! How did you get the skies to cooperate and add such artful lighting?
