These two seemed to still be riding a high as Dan had just proposed the day before on a hike up St. Mary Glacier. Being that Dan used to live in Denver, he wanted to show her all this state had to offer. “Go big,” so we made the drive all the way up top for some breathtaking mountain views. Chasing each pocket of light was just the right adventure to keep us moving and our bodies warm.

Shortly after the sun passed behind the ridge, we made our way down the pass to catch a few more minutes of warm light. After using the aspen trees below, we made our way to the top of the pass and even managed to pull of a few drone photos. These two patiently waited as Stacy and ran around the old ghost town, looking for interesting compositions. We had a blast with these two and are glad to call them friends. Next summer, they’ll be tying the knot at St. Mary Catholic Church in Breckenridge with a party at Tenmile Station.

We started their session just north of the Ice Arena in Breck and then made our way up to Boreas Pass for the final bits of light. A bit before we made our way back to the vehicles, it began to snow, giving us some fun back-lit photos. These two were a blast to work with and we cannot wait for their Chapel at Beaver Creek ceremony followed by their Camp Hale reception.

Usually when couples are not accustom to the cold, they look frigid during the first part of a session, but not Robert & Elizabeth. In fact, they were looking forward to the end of our session so they could go all in on a snowbank. There wasn’t a spot on them not covered in snow.

Between the beautiful backdrops, warm light, and fluffy fresh snow, these two quickly fell in love with all Colorado had to offer. From my end, watching Robert & Elizabeth interact and enjoy a field of snow to themselves made me quickly realize how great of a couple they are. Their youthfulness and love from each other shined with each snowball and kiss.

Our photo date with these two began near the Stephen C. West Ice Arena. Shortly after, we drove up Boreas Pass for a quick hike to a favorite overlook of ours. We wrapped up the Colorado winter engagement session on the top of Sapphire Point, which was chilly, but oh so beautiful.

Nick & Victoria showed up smiling and by the end of the night we were all laughing. They had an energy to them that was contagious and it was very easy to document their love. At the end of the shoot we drove up to a big rock formation that we wanted them to climb. Trent and I told ourselves at the beginning of the shoot we would feel them out and see if we thought they would be comfortable for us pushing them up the rock wall. Without any hesitation, they were standing on top, a bit chilly, but still smiling. We told them it would be worth it and that is all they needed to hear.

Upon seeing each other for the first time in downtown Breckenridge, we headed over to St. Mary Church in Breckenridge for their wedding ceremony. During their catholic mass, the sun gave us some spectacular light shining through the beautiful stained glass windows. After Frank & Heidi said their “I do’s,” the real adventure began.

We loaded into an SUV for a trip up the Boreas Pass Road. When on top, it wasn’t a few minutes later before these two were climbing the rail car in their wedding clothes. After some portraits, we headed back down to catch the last bits of fall color in a beautiful aspen grove along the road. Its not often you get to run around on the top of the Rocky Mountains on the day of your wedding.

Their wedding reception was at the Main Street Station in Breckenridge, which is when the party began and the dance moves came out. We had a blast with these two and appreciated their love for photography. Enjoy a snippet of our favorite wedding photos.

Chris & Kalyn aren’t Colorado residents anymore, but having lived in Breckenridge for many years, it was only fitting that they get married on top of a mountain near their old stomping grounds. There aren’t many ceremony locations as beautiful as Timber Ridge at Keystone Resort. Both Chris & Kalyn love to ski, so saying “I do” on the Anticipation ski run was a perfect touch. They also couldn’t have scheduled a better time to get married. The wild flowers on top of Boreas Pass and Keystone Mountain were as wild as we’ve ever seen them. Colorado is usually starting to brown up in late July, but not this year.

After a heartfelt ceremony, we rocked out to a live band with a few breaks to check on a certain splinter that wouldn’t budge. You had to be there for that one. At the end of it all, we couldn’t have asked for a more adventurous couple and a more beautiful Timber Ridge Wedding to photograph. Thanks you two.
