The festivities began on Friday evening at the St Julien Hotel, where guests gathered for a warm and welcoming dinner. Set against the backdrop of Boulder’s Flatirons, the St Julien provided an elegant yet relaxed setting for friends and family to connect before the big day. Laughter, wine, and heartfelt toasts filled the air, setting the tone for the weekend ahead.

Saturday greeted us with the kind of weather every couple dreams about—clear blue skies and crisp Colorado sunshine. Guests made their way to the couple’s private residence just outside of Boulder, a stunning property with sweeping views that felt both intimate and grand. The ceremony space was beautifully decorated, blending natural textures and romantic florals in a way that complemented the mountain setting. As the couple exchanged vows, it was impossible not to feel the sense of love, joy, and anticipation in the air.

From there, the wedding day became an immersive journey designed to take guests through different “worlds.” The reception began with themes of land, with earthy details and grounded elegance. As the evening unfolded, guests were swept into elements of the sea, where the décor and ambiance shifted into something fluid, vibrant, and full of life. Finally, as night fell, the celebration reached its dazzling conclusion under the stars at a hidden speakeasy bar. Guests danced, toasted, and reveled in an atmosphere that felt as limitless as the universe itself.

What made this wedding so unforgettable was not only the stunning setting or the seamless flow of events, but the thought and creativity woven into every detail. The couple created an experience that was more than a wedding—it was a journey, one that their guests will be talking about for years to come.

This past May, we got an email from Jennifer saying they had switched their plans to a smaller, more intimate wedding with Covid in mind, but still wanted us to be there to document. In downsizing their guest list, they were able to ramp up some of other aspects, from the decor, food and all of the best Asheville wedding vendors.

Jenn started off the morning getting ready in the most awesome tree house while Bobby was at a nearby Airbnb with his closest friends. After a glass of champagne and a few craft beers, it was time for everyone to make their way up to the mountaintop. By this time, the rain had started, but it wasn’t a worry. It always rains in Asheville. But not like this. After arriving up top and unpacking my gear, Bobby sent a text that said “The groomsmen are in their underwear pushing the van up the hill.”

After pushing until they couldn’t push no more, the tow truck was called and Bobby hiked, with his groomsmen the rest of the way in. Jenn, still a mile down the mountain, without skipping a beat, took off her shoes and began trekking up the muddy road to go find her groom. On a few occasions, Stacy had to ask Jenn to slow down, just so she could keep up.

Nothing was going to stop these two from getting married.

Several hours later, the only SUV that could make the drive, dropped off the last few family members. It was time. The sun had already set, but the silhouetted Blue Ridge Mountains in the background provided the perfect backdrop. The night went off perfectly with some heartfelt speeches and a first dance to remember.

We left Bobby & Jennifer’s wedding with a full heart as we were beyond moved by the character and resilience of these two. Through it all, love prevailed. We are so thankful for their friendship and cannot wait till they come back out to visit us in Colorado.

Their day started with bride & groom prep at the Highland Haven. After some pink bubbly & PBRs, it was time for their first reveal in a small clearing that Molly had scouted. Shortly after, the wedding party joined up and it was easy to see why each and every one of their bridesmaids and groomsmen were by their side. All of them a good time.

After the ceremony, the reception introductions were made and the party began. These two made sure everyone had tasty beer to drink as each table was outfitted with a selection of craft brews. Some from Colorado, others from their Andrew & Molly’s current home in the Pacific Northwest.

With the help of Sara Brown Weddings, Andrew & Molly’s day went off without a hitch. We had a blast documenting their Summer Evergreen Wedding Story and are glad to share just a few of our favorites with you all.
