Lyons Colorado has a quite a few wedding venues for its small size, but one of our favorite in the small town is the River Bend. While it technically sits inside the town limit, it doesn’t give that vibe. It’s secluded and quaint and has all the right things for an intimate farm-styled wedding. It has several ceremony location options and a beautiful reception space down by the river. Our only issue with the venue, which some might thoroughly enjoy, is its restriction of no amplified music. Guests either have to rock out to a silent disco or an acoustic band. We love this, but if you’re looking to get down to some jams at high volume, you might want to look elsewhere.

Jon & Erin’s Lyons River Bend Wedding

Jon & Erin’s Keystone Engagement might have been one of the coldest sessions we’ve shot, so we knew we were in for some heat when it came time for their Lyons River Bend Wedding. While it was a hot one temperature wise, their entire wedding day was packed full of moments and emotion, making it easy like a cool breeze.

Erin and her ladies began their prep in the WeeCasa Tiny Homes before making their way to the tent for some final touch-ups. Jon and his best of friends took a dip in the Saint Vrain before putting on their suits. After a few first looks with her bridesmaids and father, it was time to walk down the isle and see her Jon for the first time.

Moments later, they recessed down the isle to showers of birdseed thrown by their guests. It wasn’t but a minute or two after that they both have two of the favorite signature cocktails in-hand, all the while signing their marriage license. Shortly after that, the speeches began and the tears began to flow.

These two and their guests ended the night with a march into downtown Lyons, accompanied Follow the Fox, jamming away on their instruments. What else can be said about Jon & Erin’s beautiful Lyons River Bend Wedding… it was one for the books, but we’ll let the pictures do the talking now.

Calvin & Kaitlyn’s River Bend Wedding

Our first time meeting Calvin & Kaitlyn was at a wedding (not uncommon), of which he officiated (uncommon) using a dinosaur book as his platform. When they became engaged and reached out about having us as their wedding photographers, we knew we were in for a treat. During our time with them, we learned about Calvin’s Fried Chicken Blog, the use of the term water-buffalo and how Calvin’s mom bought a ring for Calvin to propose years ago. The proposal didn’t happen then, so Calvin’s mom still wears the ring today. While all of this seems random, its a great precursor to their River Bend Wedding in Lyons, CO.

We started out photographing Kaitlyn and her bridesmaids at the St. Julien Hotel & Spa before making our way to Lyons to begin their wedding day. While some couples opt for a first reveal, others keep it a bit more traditional, seeing each other for the first time coming down the isle. Its not often that we can say that the tradition pays off, but it did for these two. Their expression tells it all.

After some tear-jerking vows and a kiss, these two delighted their guests with some amazing food & drink before we got into the speeches… also tear-jerking. Shortly after, these two shared a first dance under a beautiful Colorado Sunset. The Spotlight Band rocked the live music before everyone adorned headphones for a silent disco, which is always a treat to photograph… shout out to Darrel before we forget.
