Blake & Lauren’s Engagements Backcountry Skiing on Shrine Pass

Most of our Arapahoe Basin Wedding couples are adventurous, so when Blake & Lauren booked us for wedding photography, we figured we might be in for something more than just engagement photos. With both of them being avid backcountry skiers, they wanted do integrate a bit of that into their session. We decided to take it up another notch and integrate our machine for their engagements while backcountry skiing on Shrine Pass.

We met these two at the Vail Pass parking lot and then jumped into our tracked Honda Pioneer to make our way up Shrine Pass for a few turns in the deep powder and some engagement photos as an added bonus. These two strapped on their skins for a quick skin before we made our way through knee deep powder on the way down. It was shortly after this first ski that the snow became nuclear. Visibility was down to 50 feet, but we were loving every second of it. These two couldn’t wait to play and tackle each other in the fresh snow.

Their pup joined us for the session and had an absolute blast. She made her way up, down and all around as Blake & Lauren skied and toured. All in all, what a day for Blake & Lauren’s Engagements Backcountry Skiing on Shrine Pass. We’re thankful for our couples who want to take their adventure engagement session to the next level. Brad & Alex’s Vail Mountain Top Engagement

Summer in the Rocky Mountains doesn’t get much better than on top of Vail Pass, which is why we often end up here when couples are interested in a beautiful mountain engagement. Alex & Brad brought their three dogs along for their Vail Mountain Top Engagement and we had a blast running the fields with everyone.

We managed to snag some beautiful light and cloud cover as these two made their way up and down the red stone on top of Shrine Pass. We could not have had a better time with these two and are excited for their Gorrono Ranch Wedding later this August.

Zach & Katie’s Vail Pass Summer Engagement Photos

We’ve used Vail Pass a handful of times this summer for our couple’s engagement sessions, but it still delivers every time. While technically its similar backdrops, its different because each couple is different in their own respect. This trip up to the top with Zach & Katie for their Vail Pass Summer Engagement Photos proved to be yet another successful session with plenty of beautiful frames.

It didn’t take any time at all for these two to warm up with each other. From the get go, Zach had Katie laughing and blushing. Our stroll around Officers Gulch Pond was quicker than normal, moving us up to the top of the mountain pass for even more light. We finished the session off with a second stop by the pond for the last bits of light and a beautiful scene that will always be remembered.

Jon & Jess’s Summer Engagement on Shrine Pass

Our beautiful state affords us some amazing backdrops to work with, but one of the biggest reasons we appreciate it, is because of how close everything is. During Jon & Jess’s Summer Engagement on Shrine Pass, we managed to shoot around the lake at Officers Gulch, only to find ourselves at 12,000 feet a few minutes later.

These two, also residents to Summit County, had yet to drive the Shrine Pass road, making for a fun new adventure. We had a blast making engagement pictures with these two as they shared a few moments together.

Mike & Valentina’s Fall Engagement on Vail Pass

Fall is often a busy season for engagement session but with early snow storms it was a sorter than normal. We had to stomp through some snow to get to one of the last golden aspen groves in Vail. It ended up being a blue bird day with beautiful light but don’t let these warm gold colors fool you as it was cold. Mike & Valentina were all for making the long treck back to find some color and rocked their fall engagement session on Vail Pass.

We enjoyed getting to know Mike & Valentina during our time with them and cannot wait to document their wedding next year in Vail.

Shane & Kia’s Shrine Pass Engagement

Fall is beautiful in just about every part of the country, but Colorado has groves on groves of golden aspen, making it a destination for many. When Shane & Kia contacted us about coming out to our beautiful state, we figured a Shrine Pass Engagement would be a great way to document their love for each other. We started our session on Wilderness Hill in Silverthorne and then made our way over to Officers Gulch for a few photos before the sun set behind the ridge.

Our favorite part about Shrine Pass is the ability to squeeze every bit of sun out of the day. By going to the top, its almost as if you get two sunsets. We also found a bit of snow in the trees, something you won’t see in September in other states.

We can’t thank these two enough for being such a fun-loving and easy couple to work with. We hope you enjoy their Shrine Pass Engagement photos.

Jake & Jessica’s Vail Pass Engagement

In talking with Jake & Jessica for their Vail Pass Engagement session, they wanted some beautiful fall colors to compliment their pictures. However, the morning of, Vail Pass was covered in a few inches of white powder, changing our color pallet just a bit. It didn’t phase these two one bit though.

After a drive to the top and a few photos with the beautiful Gore Range in the background, we made our way down to Officers Gulch for a jaunt around the lake. We love Colorado and all of its craziness. There aren’t too many states where to can drive from a snow-covered mountain pass to a grove of golden aspens in only a few minutes.
