Huge snowflakes falling from the sky means its chilly, but lucky for us it was warm enough to enjoy a beautiful snowfall. We lucked out with some beautiful conditions for Brandon & Anne’s beautiful snow engagement in Breckenridge. We managed to find some new frames with these two lovely people at the Sawmill Reservoir.

TJ & Donna’s Breckenridge Spring Engagement

Spring is here, also known as mud-season in the mountains, but it doesn’t slow us down. Our engagement sessions this time of the year often include many boot-to-shoe swaps as the snow-melt turns everything into mud-cakes. This didn’t bother TJ & Donna the slightest as we made our way to Sawmill Reservoir and then up the other side of the valley for their Breckenridge Spring Engagement.

With their upcoming Greenwood Briar Inn Wedding, we had a blast spending an afternoon with these two. Engagement sessions are more for getting acquainted with our quirky photography ways, but you also get frame-worthy prints like these. For now, enjoy our favorites from their Breckenridge Spring Engagement until we join up with these two for their Boulder Wedding later this summer.

Sawmill Reservoir

We consider Sawmill Reservoir a hidden gem in the town of Breckenridge. Hidden just below the ski resort, but close enough to be a 5 minute drive from most any Breckenridge Wedding Venue, Sawmill Reservoir gives you the feeling of being away from the hustle-bustle of downtown Breck without a 4×4 adventure. There are several trails around the reservoir that provide access to fields of wildflowers and coves of lodge-pole pine trees. To the southwest, you can see the Tenmile Range as well as some of the ski runs and lifts.

For being so closely located to town, Sawmill is a go-to location for wedding photos or engagement sessions near Breckenridge.

Austin & Melissa’s Proposal in Breckenridge

It was a perfect day for a proposal in Breckenridge. The sun was shining and temperatures were unusually warm.

Austin & Melissa often visit Breckenridge in the winter to hit the slopes, enjoy the mountain views and get out of the windy city of Chicago. Although this time Austin had something a little different in mind. He spent months planning the proposal to his long time girlfriend.

After the emotional proposal in Breckenridge, we headed up in the mountain to capture some photos of the newly engaged couple. We trekked around in the snow and were able to document the first few laughs and conversations after their new commitment to each other. Having been together for over eight years, these two were in sync with every conversation and step they took. They casually started to talk about their wedding, sharing the news to their family and all of the exciting adventures that come with an engagement. Stepping away to be alone in the beautiful winter forest seemed to be just what these two needed.
