During their engagement session, Trent discovered that Kellen was also a woodworker, which led to those two talking about their favorite lumber suppliers and power tools. Nicole and I could only shake our heads with a grin.

Our photo date with these two began near the Stephen C. West Ice Arena. Shortly after, we drove up Boreas Pass for a quick hike to a favorite overlook of ours. We wrapped up the Colorado winter engagement session on the top of Sapphire Point, which was chilly, but oh so beautiful.

In talking with Wes and Elizabeth, the two biggest priorities for their wedding were for it to be intimate and personal. Having sewn part of her wedding dress, she also crafted her daughter’s dress as well. Instead of high heels and glitter, she opted for snow-boots & long underwear.

Once prep was complete, we made our way to Sapphire Point so she could spend a moment with Wes before their beautiful winter wedding ceremony. Shortly after the “I Do’s” and some tears, we climbed to the top of the point for some beautiful winter wedding portraits. Rather than taking the long but gradual trail to the top, these two opted for the short and steep route, giving us some more photo time.

Finally, we made our way back off the mountain and to their wedding reception in Keystone, CO. We had a blast getting to photograph all the love and friendship that these two brought to Colorado. Seth & Bethany are from Indiana and were visiting the Summit County area in search of their wedding venue. They reached out to us about shooting their Breckenridge Engagement session a while back, so we made it happen during a quick visit to the area. Having shot at Sapphire Point a few times, we’ve never actually made it to the top, so why not take a formally attired couple in high heels up a mountain side for a few photos?

After some photos with the 10 Mile Range in the background, we drove to the opposite side of Lake Dillon for some beautiful silloute pictures with Buffalo Mountain in the background.

Lastly, we headed up to Sapphire Point for a quick shot of the sunset and a few more laughs, smiles and jokes. Thanks again you two for being such awesome sports as we ran through the elements. Having spent some good time in Colorado, Kyle wanted to share his love of the slopes with Nickie, so they decided to head to the mountains, get married, enjoy some fine dining and strap some planks to their feet and ride it out. We started off their wedding day on top of Sapphire Point, which overlooks Lake Dillon. With a little help from Julie, they exchanged vows, signed their license and we then headed off into the forest to grab some intimate portraits of the newlyweds.
