Having looked at a few of our past San Sophia Weddings, Mike & Dana decided to first hire us for their Telluride Engagement, but also for their big day in August. It was perfect weather for these two as they made their way to the valley floor, downtown for a few iconic photos and finally finishing up top for their ceremony and reception at Allred’s.

We had a blast working with these two, making some timeless photographs all throughout the day. It was such an honor when The New York Times decided to pick-up the story of their day and feature an article in their print edition. Congrats you two on your Allred’s Wedding in Telluride.

Leah started out the wedding day with bridal prep in a suite at the Ritz-Carlton. Shortly after finishing her makeup, I documented her and her bridesmaids singing their hearts out to a Cardi B track. Meanwhile, Will and the guys spent time in the cigar bar, enjoying some craft beer.

After both Will & Leah were ready for their first look, Stacy and I gave each other a smile as we knew we were in for an energetic wedding day pumped full of positive energy and endless amounts of moments to document. We found a ski run further up the mountain for their first look, overlooking Avon below. Will’s reaction to Leah in her dress was priceless.

We then arrived back at the Ritz-Carlton, greeted by hooting and hollering from their wedding party. It was time to get these two married. While we’ve shot just about every Colorado Wedding Venue possible, we’ve yet to shoot a ceremony on a ski bridge. It was as awesome as it sounds.

While most wedding ceremonies are a reflection of the couple, Will & Leah’s could not have been more personable. Officiated by his brother, it was the perfect mix of laughter, crying and exchanging of vows. These two sealed the deal with two kisses, the second coming halfway down the isle with every guest cheering them on.

After the toasts had been made, we finished off the night with the help of the Tunisia Band. These two left the dance floor only a few times, either for a refreshment or a last minute sunset photo.

Coming from Florida, the most snow these two had ever seen was a few inches, which is a far stretch from the multiple feet of snow the Rocky Mountains adorn all winter long. Needless to say, they were in awe of all the different ways to slide, ride and play in our winter wonderland. After a day of sliding down the ski runs at Keystone, Dustin wanted to finish off their Colorado vacation with a bang. The ring, in his possession for nearly two years, needed a new home… on Sarah’s finger.

We secretly joined their snowmobile tour as random guests and after a quick rundown and cruise through the flats, we headed up Ptarmigan Pass. Our first stop was on top of Machine Gun Ridge, which was the highest point of our tour, but also the windiest. After a quick discussion between Stacy and I, we decided not to give Dustin the code word. Its a good thing we did.

A few miles later we stopped at an overlook of the Sawatch Range. No wind. No audience. It was perfect. “Man its bright out here,” I said. Dustin then asked Sarah if she could take off her helmet so they could take a photo. Stacy and I quickly unpacked our cameras just in time to capture their Colorado Mountain Top Proposal. After several minutes of hugging, crying and laughter, Sarah turned and noticed we were not just random patrons, but instead, documenting their engagement.

Shortly after, we hopped back on the sleds to finish our tour before making our way back down to the lodge. Both Stacy and I had the greatest time with these two, as well as Malcolm. We can’t think of a better way to pop the question and have to hand it to Dustin for going through with it all. You nailed it. Enjoy these photographs from Dustin & Sarah’s proposal story.

Arriving to bridal prep at the rental house, we had a blast running from room to room, documenting the chaos that ensues before everyone races out the door for the ceremony. After a ride on the Turtle Bus, we met Travis & the groomsmen in downtown Vail for a few wedding party pictures before heading up to The Chapel at Beaver Creek.

Shortly after a large group photo in front of the church, we headed out to the slopes for a few portraits of the beautiful bride & groom. Then, it was off to The Donovan Pavilion for their reception, which was decorated with personal touches of copper & lace.

We had a blast shooting this energetic crowd of friends for the nightcap of what was Travis & Sheryl’s beautiful Vail Wedding. Thanks again you two and enjoy the photos.

Spend 10 minutes with Jamie and you’ll realize you’ve met one of the nicest and happiest people ever. Spend 10 minutes with Matt, and you’ll have someone asking to carry your bags or grab you a water. Stacy and I had a blast tromping through the snow with these two during their Lake Dillon Engagement session this past winter, so we were even more excited to capture their wedding.

As is the case with a lot of Colorado Wedding Venues, the beautiful ceremony location at TenMile Station is outside, which doesn’t always bode well with weather. Waiting up until the last minute, the call was made to move the ceremony location indoors, which wasn’t their first choice, but also wasn’t going to diminish their day one bit. After the ceremony, we made our way above the rain clouds for some epic portraits above treeline. Some of our favorite shots aren’t the portraits themselves, but the movement to and from each spot. Jamie in her rain boots with Matt sheltering his new bride from the elements.

Arriving back at the venue, Elite DJ began the party and it took all of a few seconds for the dance floor to pack itself with Matt & Jamie’s friends & family. We don’t think Jamie left the dance floor once the party began and it was so much fun being able to photograph these two get down. Enjoy the photos.

Matt & Kaylee’s Aspen wedding day started off similar to their Boulder Engagement session, a bit rainy, but just like on that day, it wasn’t going to bother these two one bit. The cool thing about Colorado weather is it changes by the minute, and by the time Kaylee was to walk down the isle for her ceremony on the Aspen Wedding Deck, it was nothing but blue skies and smiles for miles and miles.

These two planned an intimate ceremony with their closest family who could make the trip. Aspen is a destination wedding location in itself, and Matt & Kaylee wanted to share that with those that meant the most. Having spent a good part of their relationship snowboarding the slopes of Aspen Snowmass, it seemed fitting to seal the deal on the mountain top they carve their way down on. Hands down, The Aspen Wedding Deck at The Little Nell has to be one of Colorado’s most beautiful ceremony locations.

Seth & Bethany are from Indiana and were visiting the Summit County area in search of their wedding venue. They reached out to us about shooting their Breckenridge Engagement session a while back, so we made it happen during a quick visit to the area. Having shot at Sapphire Point a few times, we’ve never actually made it to the top, so why not take a formally attired couple in high heels up a mountain side for a few photos?

Fast forward to their wedding day. Perfect weather, at one of our favorite wedding venues, with an exquisite couple; we’ll take it. Liezl got ready in the Camp Hale Cabins with a few friends, some of whom flew in all the way from South Africa. Upon sharing a moment with their friends and family, Liezl and I trailed Stacy & Peter up a 4×4 road for their first reveal above treeline. The fields of wild flowers, vista of mountain ranges and feeling that you’re on top of the world makes the bumpy traverse up worth the hassle.

Upon arriving back at the Camp Hale Lodge, we made our way over to the private lake so Liezl’s father could marry the two. As goes with most weddings, there are always a few unexpected surprises that can make brides break down or shrug and laugh. When Liezl’s veil popped off coming over the bridge, her smile set the tone for the rest of the wedding. It wasn’t about everything being perfect, it was about the marriage of two people in front of their friends, family and loved ones. Instead of regular cake, Peter & Liezl’s decided to cut into a large platter of cheese, which kicked off a night of dancing and good times.

With Camp Hale being so remote, a portrait under the stars is always on our mind, and Peter & Liezl couldn’t have been more excited to find a different way to finish off their Camp Hale Wedding, a favorite Vail Wedding Venue of ours.

When we first met with Tim & Katie they shared their love for photography and the art of capturing moments. Being that Tim is an artist himself, the photography aspect of their wedding was very important to them. We knew right then- these two were a great fit for us.

Fast forward to their wedding day and we were hiking the gravel trails on the foothills of the Rockies in their nicest clothes. Their day was surrounded with stories from loved ones, laughter and pure excitement. We enjoyed documenting every step of their day- from the first brush of makeup till the last few songs on the dance floor.

Chris & Theresa had friends and family fly in from over the world for their Spruce Mountain Ranch wedding- from Toyko, Hawaii to the United Kingdom. Being with the family you would of thought they see each other on a weekly basis. The love and support their family poured onto these two during their day was moving. You could not only see the love these two shared for each other but you could sense the guests had the same feeling towards their marriage.
